Book a visit to Wandlebury Country Park's fully furnished and equipped learning centre, in a carefully restored former stable range, with an enclosed picnic field and meadow.

Situated on gentle chalk hills just south of the City of Cambridge, spacious Wandlebury Country Park is a perfect place for a school or group visit throughout the year.

With chalk grassland meadows - grazed by sheep and Highland Cattle, woodlands, ponds, a traditional orchard - complete with observation beehive, and the historic 'Wandlebury Ring' - the remains of an iron age hill fort and 18th century gardens, there are a diverse range of habitats to learn about, and a fascinating history to study and explore.

Woodmice Toddler Group

Education Programme Open Day - learning about bees and beekeeping
Wandlebury Woodmice in action

This toddler group with a difference in association with Cambridge Steiner, meets outside at Wandlebury on Thursday and Friday mornings throughout the year.

Toddler Group leader explains: -

"We are a playgroup with no toys!... but the children play beautifully. We have climbed and jumped and rolled and stopped to listen; we have built dens and fairy houses. Horses spring to life from a branch held front and back by two children...with keen eyes have found just the right stick for the house we are building"...

Parents say

"there is the immense pleasure and satisfaction to be had in spending time with our children in beautiful empty places"...
