SUMMARY:Wandlebury Scything Festival
DESCRIPTION:Sun 12 July\, 10am-4pm. \nHave a go at scything and watch expe
 rts in action.\nScything is a traditional rural skill that was used to cut 
 hay. The skill is kept alive by enthusiasts and scything is still used to c
 ut hay in small or difficult locations where using a tractor isn’t possib
 le.\nFrom 10am-1pm there will be scything demonstrations and have-a-go sess
 ions\, so you can try your hand at scything.\nThere will be Green Woodworki
 ng demonstrations from the Cambridge Bodgers\, making items from the wood t
 hat is a by-product from our Woodland Restoration Project.\nStay around for
  the afternoon to watch the scything championships and see how the experts 
 do it. Last year’s winner cut a plot 5m x 5m in under two and a half minu
 tes! The competitions will start around 2pm.\nWe also expect a return visit
  from the Grim Strimmer who will challenge a top scyther to a scything race
 .\nScything activities will be signposted from the car park.\nPlease pay fo
