Archaeology Open Day
Sat 2 May, 10am – 4pm
Wandlebury was once an important Iron Age hillfort with a roundhouse village. There’s still a lot we don’t know about this period of our history, and at other times, but Cambridge University’s Department of Archaeology and the Cambridge Archaeological Unit are carrying out some digs to find out more. They are very keen to share their work with you and this is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the Iron Age past and periods of history.
Fun for all the family including:
- Excavation site tours
- Talk to archaeologists from the Department of Archaeology and the Cambridge Archaeological Unit
- Take part in a variety of hands-on activities
- See archaeological finds from Wandlebury up close
Takes place at the Education Centre/Stables and directions to the dig sites will be provided from there.
Free event, suggested donation £3
No need to book.
