Volunteering

Volunteers make a massive difference to our work caring for Cambridge, historic buildings and green landscapes.

Volunteering at Cambridge Past, Present & Future

People of all ages and backgrounds volunteer their time to learn new skills, gain work experience, have fun, meet new people or simply to make a difference. Each year over 200 volunteers kindly give their time and expertise to help us across all aspects of our work.

If you would like to volunteer please have a look at the opportunities below. Alternatively, if you have relevant professional expertise such as legal, engineer, mechanic, financial, planner, architect, construction, ecologist, etc then we would be especially pleased to hear from you, click here to get in touch.

We also welcome organisations looking for group volunteering activity to help with our nature conservation and heritage work across the 550 acres of greenspaces in our care, please click here to complete our enquiry form.

Volunteer Outdoor Work Parties

Get involved with some hands-on conservation!

Help care for green spaces and their wildlife – get active, meet others and enjoy learning rural practices at the same time.

This was the first time I have taken part in volunteering at Wandlebury and I was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The wardens were welcoming and patient, I felt valued and included, and I came away feeling that I had learnt something and contributed something.

Volunteer Work Party Dates 2025

Volunteer work parties will resume in September at Wandlebury Country Park and Coton Reserve

Work parties are paused during spring/summer due to the growing/nesting season.

Unless stated, all work parties are from 10.30am-1.30pm, although we often carry on longer for those who would like to stay.

All activity will be outdoors. We recommend that you bring your own work gloves but we will have a supply of gloves which have not been used for at least 72 hours. We provide a drink but you are welcome to bring your own. We will have hand sanitiser available but we recommend you bring your own.
