Rave on for the Avon - film

RAVE ON FOR THE AVON (12A) is a feature-length documentary film that follows a local community’s fight to save their bathing spot in unique, daring & distinctly Bristolian ways. Read more about the film

The film will be preceded by Shirley Lowe of the Cambridge Storytellers, who will perform "The Monkey and the River".

We are honoured to be joined by nature writer and campaigner Amy-Jane Beer (author of many books/articles including The Flow: Rivers, Water and Wildness and Wild Service: Why Nature Needs You), who will perform a reading and be available for book signings.

Also on the programme: the world premiere of a new short film directed by Charlotte Sawyer: AVONA. This film was commissioned by the Cambridge 'Rivers of Film' Festival, and will show the creation of a giant river spirit goddess - shaped by the vision of poet and artist Meg Trump (Mrs. Avon) and many loving hands in Summer 2025.
