Get outdoors: volunteer work parties return in October
Our outdoor volunteer work parties are back for a new season. From October to March, we’ll meet on Tuesday mornings to help care for the green spaces and wildlife at Wandlebury Country Park, Coton Countryside Reserve and Grantchester Meadows.
It’s a chance to spend a few hours outdoors, learn practical countryside skills and meet other people who care about these places. Our wardens will explain the day’s tasks and provide the tools and equipment, so you don’t need previous experience. Come to one session or join us regularly — all help is welcome.
Work parties before Christmas
Wandlebury Country Park: 6 and 27 October; 17 November; 8 December
Coton Countryside Reserve: 13 October; 3, 10 and 24 November; 1 and 15 December
Grantchester Meadows: 20 October
Sessions run from 10.30am to 1.30pm, unless stated otherwise. There’s no need to book: just meet at the car park notice board. Wear sturdy clothes and footwear, and bring a snack and a drink. Under 18s are welcome with an accompanying adult.
If you’re coming as a group of three or more, please email warden@cambridgeppf.org at least 48 hours beforehand so we can make sure there are enough tools and tasks for everyone.
