Step Into Nature: Free Weekly Walks at Wandlebury
Every week, a friendly group of walkers gathers at Wandlebury Country Park to enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise, and good company.
Whether you’re looking to boost your fitness, spend more time outdoors, or simply meet new people, these free walks are a welcoming way to do it.
How it works
-
10-11am – For experienced walkers (new and regulars).
-
10.30-11am – For less experienced walkers (new and regulars).
The first group sets out at 10am, then loops back to meet the second group, so everyone finishes the walk together.
More than a walk
For many, the highlight isn’t just the walk itself but the time afterwards. Most people stay on for coffee and a chat at the Wandlebury pop up cafe – a chance to sit down together, swap stories, and enjoy the wellbeing boost of socialising.
As Di, who organises the Healthy Walking Groups, says:
“I look on the walk as fitness, but it’s the social side after that’s just as important. Some people over the years have told me this is the highlight of their week.”
Why Wandlebury?
Not every walking group gets to meet in a place like Wandlebury. Walking amongst trees, birdsong, and historic landscapes makes a difference. Many walkers say the “feel-good factor” of nature is what keeps them coming back.
And with free parking for members, it’s even easier to make walking here a regular habit.
A warm welcome
Everyone is welcome, whether you come with a friend or on your own. New walkers often say how quickly they feel part of the group. Over the weeks, fitness improves, confidence grows, and new friendships are made.
