Fantastical Forest Exhibition: Celebrating Art, Community and Nature on Tree Charter Day
Saturday 29 November 2025, 10:30am–3:00pm
Wandlebury Country Park, Cambridge
This Tree Charter Day, visitors are invited to step into a living artwork beneath the great beech trees at Wandlebury Country Park. The Fantastical Forest Exhibition returns on Saturday 29 November, bringing together creativity, community and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Now in its sixth year, this much-loved celebration, created by Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination (CCI) in partnership with Cambridge Past, Present & Future (CPPF) and supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, continues to grow as a joyful expression of what happens when people and place come together through art.
A Celebration of Partnership and Imagination
The Fantastical Forest has been shaped by hundreds of people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough: artists, schools, community groups, libraries, colleges and cultural organisations. Each creation in the forest carries a spark of this shared creativity, woven together beneath the canopy at Wandlebury.
“CCI’s Fantastical Forest brings to life the power of weaving together the real and the imagined, both to better see the worlds on our own doorsteps, and to move together towards greener, fairer futures,” says Emily Dowdeswell, Director of Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination.
“At a time of year when we seek out lights and companionship, come join us to enjoy the entire collection in its most beautiful setting.”
Reconnecting with the Tree Charter
The exhibition also marks Tree Charter Day 2025, a national celebration of the UK’s trees and woodlands. Each year, communities come together to recognise their importance and reaffirm our shared commitment to protecting them for future generations.
At Wandlebury, the Fantastical Forest gives these principles creative life, inviting visitors to explore, imagine and reconnect with the living landscape around them.
